CENTRAL OREGONIAN GETS NEEDED SUPPORT FROM IMPRESSIONS WORLDWIDE

The Central Oregonian has been printing The Bulletin (Bend, OR) and a number of associated special sections with the assistance of imPRESSions Worldwide for several months. imPRESSions supplied and installed a 13-unit Goss Community SSC press in late 2019 for Pamplin Media in Prineville about 45 minutes from Bend. Along with the new Press came a new workload that more than doubled the volume of press runs for Prineville. imPRESSions has since been working with their printing division to run the press each day, while working with their staff providing on-the-fly training in press operations. imPRESSions Worldwide’s RaP (Rent-a-Pressman) program, has provided the short-term service fill-in for the last three months. Prineville is now running the new Press on their own.

“When we committed to build a press and take on the printing of the daily Bend Bulletin, we faced the daunting challenge of hiring additional experienced press operators in a matter of a few short weeks. Experienced press personnel are very hard to find, and we would not have been able to get up and running in time if not for the Rent-a-Pressman service from imPRESSions Worldwide. The press operators they supplied us in December, January and February were extremely knowledgeable and hard working. They helped train some of our staff members and also kept us operating seven days a week. If we run into a labor crunch in the future due to coronavirus of any other issue, we will definitely call imPRESSions,” said Mark Garber, Pamplin Media Group President and Publisher.

Tom Loesch, president of imPRESSions stated, “We are finding that more and more pressrooms are in need of experienced operators. The RaP program is just an extension of our services. Once we supply, deliver and install press equipment, we don’t leave our customers hanging. We work with them and see them through difficult crunch times.”
